The Orthodox Vacation Bible School of Outside Kerala Region (OVBS-OKR) has been a longstanding educational outreach program of the St. Thomas Orthodox Theological Seminary, Nagpur of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church.. It provides our younger generation especially the outside Kerala born and bought ups with an opportunity to learn more about the basic tenets of the Orthodox faith through participation in a fun and interactive program that takes place over a series of days. OVBS-OKR focuses on deepening the knowledge and experience of the Orthodox faithful and embraces the teachings and traditions of the Orthodox Christianity. Also, the curriculum attempts to teach and engage the participants in the following areas: classroom lessons & discussions, songs/hymns (liturgical & non-liturgical), Orthodox worship/prayer, activities, arts & crafts, recreation, and more. The theme for this year’s OVBS-OKR is taken from 1Thess. 5:18 “Discern God’s plan for us”.
